2021 Wyoming Elk Application Reminder

It is that time of year to start thinking about Wyoming elk applications. The application period will be here and gone before you know it! The elk application period is short and only open from January 4th at 8 am to February 1st. Don’t wait until the last minute and then forget, we’ve been there and done that and don’t recommend being left out! Once you successfully apply, you can start counting down the days until the draw results are posted on May 20th. In Wyoming, there are no “over the counter” or “OTC” tags for non-residents to hunt bull elk, which means the only way you will have this opportunity is to apply for a chance to draw a tag! We have a limited number of bull elk hunts open for the 2021 season and we don’t want you to miss out. If you have been thinking about going on your dream elk hunt, then wait no more, let’s make that dream a reality.

Elk hunting success rates in Wyoming are high and we have a healthy population of elk. We are licensed to hunt in several different areas within the Big Horns with lots of potential to harvest a great bull. Some of our areas only require a few preference points while our trophy areas can require up to 12 to 13 points. If you’re still building your preference points for the future, don’t worry, that’s okay. There are other options we can take to save your preference points and still allow you to apply for a license. We also have cow elk hunts available to help fill your freezer and we would be more than happy to help you apply for leftover cow tags.

All applications must be submitted online by the deadline. Give us a call today so we can walk you through the application process, discuss our areas and which options might be the best for you. It’s never too early to start planning your next hunt.

As we wrap up 2020 we would like to take a moment to thank all of you for your support during this trying year, we realize that COVID has presented many challenges for everyone. With that being said, thank you to those of you who have ventured out to Wyoming and were willing to travel and spend time with us on your hunt. We really do appreciate it! We also realize that travel may be difficult in the coming year as well, but don’t sweat it. If the unexpected happens with your flights, work, family, etc. then we are more than willing to be flexible in order to make your trip happen. Our goal is to be out hunting with you, regardless of what it takes!
